Herkunft & Geschichte

The Su surname derives from Su Fen, a descendant of the Yellow Emperor Huangdi, who settled in the Su region in present-day Henan province during the Shang Dynasty. The character 蘇 originally referred to a type of aromatic perilla herb and also carries the meaning of revival or awakening. The surname is common across Fujian, Guangdong, and Taiwan.
