Kimura

Origen e historia

Kimura means 'tree village' (木村) and refers to a settlement situated in or near a forested area. The name arose as a topographic descriptor in multiple regions during the Heian and Kamakura periods. Kimura clans appeared as local samurai in Kii Province and other forested regions. The surname is distributed nationwide but is most concentrated in the Kinki (Kansai) and Tokai regions.
