Origen e historia

Verma comes from the Sanskrit 'varman', meaning 'shield' or 'armour'. It was historically a surname used by Kshatriya (warrior) clans across North India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Punjab. Over time it was adopted by other communities, including some Kayastha and OBC groups. In South India, Varma is associated with the Kshatriya royal families of Kerala.
