Origine et histoire

Cao is the Sino-Vietnamese form of 高 (Gāo), meaning 'tall' or 'lofty.' The name entered Vietnam during the period of Chinese administrative control and was common among officials who adopted Chinese customs. It is also associated with figures of the Cao Đài religious movement, a syncretic faith founded in southern Vietnam in 1926 that blends Buddhism, Taoism, and Christianity.
