Origine et histoire

Đoàn is the Sino-Vietnamese rendering of 段 (Duàn), meaning 'segment' or 'section.' The character is associated with the ruling clan of the Dali Kingdom in present-day Yunnan, China. The surname arrived in northern Vietnam through proximity to Yunnan and through Chinese administrative presence. It is found primarily in northern and central Vietnam.
