Fujita

Origine et histoire

Fujita means 'wisteria rice field' (藤田) and is another Fujiwara-derived 'fuji' surname denoting paddy land owned or farmed by Fujiwara descendants. Multiple Fujita clans arose across Japan, with notable branches in Settsu, Bizen, and Oshu provinces. The name spread widely during the medieval period and is especially common in the Kinki and Chugoku regions of western Japan.
