Origine et histoire

The Liang surname is traced to Bo Yi Kao, a son of King Wen of Zhou, who was enfeoffed in the Liang region of Shaanxi province. The character 梁 originally referred to a wooden beam or bridge. The surname is common in Guangdong, Guangxi, and among Cantonese-speaking communities worldwide. Several rulers of the Southern Dynasties period carried the Liang name.
