Trương is the Sino-Vietnamese form of 張 (Zhāng), meaning 'to stretch' or 'to draw a bow,' one of the top three most common surnames in China. The name entered Vietnam through the long history of Sino-Vietnamese interaction and is found across the country. It has been carried by scholars, military officers, and revolutionaries throughout Vietnamese history.
