Asal-usul & Sejarah

The Xu surname originates from the ancient state of Xu, established by Boyi, a descendant of the legendary Emperor Zhuanxu who helped Emperor Yao tame the great floods. The state of Xu was located in present-day Anhui and Jiangsu provinces and flourished during the Zhou Dynasty before being absorbed by Wu around 512 BC. The clan is known for its traditions in medicine, scholarship, and the arts.
