기원 및 역사

Thái is the Sino-Vietnamese reading of 蔡 (Cài), the name of an ancient Zhou-dynasty feudal state in present-day Henan province. The surname arrived in Vietnam through Chinese settlers and administrators across the centuries of Sino-Vietnamese contact. It is found primarily in southern and central Vietnam and has notable representation among Hoa (Chinese Vietnamese) communities.
