기원 및 역사

Yoshida means 'lucky rice field' (吉田) and originated as a topographic surname for families farming auspiciously yielding land. The name has ancient priestly associations: the Yoshida clan served as hereditary Shinto priests at Yoshida Shrine in Kyoto, developing Yoshida Shinto during the medieval period. The surname is common throughout western Japan, especially in Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima prefectures.
