Origem e História

Bose is the anglicised form of the Bengali surname 'Basu', derived from the Sanskrit 'vāsava', a name for Indra or meaning 'a wealthy person'. It is predominantly used by the Kayastha community of Bengal. The surname gained global recognition through revolutionary leader Subhas Chandra Bose and physicist Satyendra Nath Bose, the latter giving his name to the Bose-Einstein condensate and the subatomic boson particle.
