Origem e História

The Ren surname (任) traces its origins to Ren Xi, a son of the Yellow Emperor Huangdi. According to the Shiji, Huangdi had 25 sons, of whom 12 received new surnames, and Ren was among them. The ancient state of Ren was located in present-day Shandong province. The character 任 means to entrust or appoint, conveying responsibility and trust.
