Origem e História
The Wei surname (魏) originates from the ancient state of Wei, one of the Seven Warring States of ancient China, located in present-day Shanxi and Henan. Its founding ancestor Bi Wan was a minister of the state of Jin who was enfeoffed in the Wei region. After Wei was conquered by Qin in 225 BC, its people adopted Wei as their surname. The surname appears in the notable Wei Dynasty (220–265 AD) of the Three Kingdoms period.
