Meera

Meera is believed to derive from the Sanskrit 'mīra', possibly meaning 'ocean', 'sea', or 'prosperous'. It is most celebrated as the name of Mirabai (c. 1498–1547), the Rajput princess-saint and poet whose bhakti (devotional) songs to Lord Krishna are among the most beloved in Indian literature. Meera's poetry of divine love has made the name synonymous with devotion, creativity, and spiritual passion. The name is widespread across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and North India.
