Происхождение и история

The Du surname derives from Du Bo, an official of the Western Zhou court who was unjustly executed by King Xuan of Zhou. His son fled to Jin and adopted Du as the family surname. The character 杜 originally referred to a type of wild berry tree. The surname is common in Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hunan, and Hubei provinces.
