Rahul

Rahul has dual origins: in Sanskrit it means 'efficient' or 'able', derived from 'rahu' (conqueror of difficulties). It is also the name of Gautama Buddha's only son, making it revered in Buddhist tradition as well. In the Pali texts 'Rahula' means 'fetter' or 'bond', symbolising the ties that bind one to the world before enlightenment. The name peaked in popularity during the 1980s–1990s and remains widely used across India.
