Zheng

起源与历史

The Zheng surname originates from the state of Zheng, founded by Ji You, a younger brother of King Xuan of Zhou, around 806 BC in present-day Henan province. When the state was eventually conquered by Han in 375 BC, its people adopted Zheng as their surname. The clan became prominent in Fujian and is extremely common in Taiwan and among Hokkien overseas communities.
