由来と歴史

Pandey derives from the Sanskrit 'paṇḍita', meaning 'learned man' or 'scholar'. It is a Brahmin surname widespread in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Pandeys were traditionally Sanskrit-educated priests and scholars who served as advisors to Rajput and other royal courts. The surname Pandya in Gujarat and Maharashtra shares the same etymology and is associated with the medieval Pandya kingdom of Tamil Nadu.
