由来と歴史

Takahashi means 'high bridge' (高橋) and is a topographic surname adopted by families living near prominent bridges or elevated crossings. It traces back to the Takahashi no Muraji, an ancient clan that served the Yamato court as hereditary cooks and administrators. The surname spread across the Tohoku and Kanto regions during the feudal era and remains especially common in Fukushima, Miyagi, and Niigata prefectures.
