Andersson
기원 및 역사
Patronymic surname meaning 'son of Anders', the Swedish form of Andrew — itself derived from the Greek 'Andreas', from 'aner' (man, male). The suffix '-son' was used in the Scandinavian patronymic tradition to denote descent from the father, and Anders was one of the most popular given names in Sweden throughout the early modern period. When Sweden's 1901 Name Adoption Act required fixed hereditary surnames, millions of families formalised the patronymic pattern they had already been using, making Andersson the single most common surname in Sweden.
