由来と歴史
Nature surname meaning 'mountain grove' or 'hill grove', composed of the Swedish 'berg' (mountain, hill) and 'lund' (grove, small sacred wood). Berglund combines two of the most symbolically rich landscape words in the Swedish nature-surname tradition: 'berg', associated with permanence and ruggedness, and 'lund', associated with the sacred groves of Old Norse religion where communal gatherings and religious rites were held. The combination makes Berglund a particularly evocative name with deep roots in the Swedish cultural landscape. It is most concentrated in the provinces of Smaland and Ostergotland in south-central Sweden.
